Shannon had just gotten off work and was really needing to relax some.  She went into the club and slid into the seat at the bar ordering her drink.  She looked at the man beside her and smiled. Shannon: Hello.

Roleplay Title... First night in town OOC... Yay! I'm back, people! :-p Emmett looked over to the woman who's voice had so sweetly said hello and smiled. She seemed nice, and sort of shy, by the way her eyes didn't make contact with his for more than a few seconds. He liked that. "Hi.... I'm Emmett. What's your name?" He took a sip of his scotch as the bartender sat it down in front of him and nodded in appreciation as he waited for her response.

Roleplay Title... First night in town OOC... Yay! I'm back, people! :-p He nodded and smiled as she responded. "Shannon...that's a beautiful name." He watched as she took another sip of her drink and thanked him. They sat there kind of quiet for a another few minutes and as he saw her drink start to dwindle, he raised his hand up to the bartender and pointed to Shannon, acknowledging that he wanted him to bring her another drink. "So, you're from around here?"

She shook her head and smiled. Shannon: I grew up in London.  I moved here a few weeks ago.  what about you?

Roleplay Title... First night in town OOC... Yay! I'm back, people! :-p He listened more closely to her words and could hear the accent in it. How did he not notice before? "I actually just moved into the neighborhood today. Came here to grab a drink before I go pass out for the night. Doing everything alone can be a bit of a hassle, but whatever." He slammed back the last of his drink. He didn't really need or want a second one, but who could say no to the company of a lovely woman like this when they had an empty house to go back to? He looked over at the bartender and raised his finger. "One more, buddy."

She smiled and nodded. Shannon: I know the feeling.  I actually had to pay my brothers to move my furniture in for me.  You would think that being family they would be more helpful for free.

"That sucks, I'm sorry it had to be that way for you. Now that we know each other, maybe next time you need something like that done, you could ask me.... if you'd want me to, that is." He looked over to her and watched as she put a stray strand of her hair back behind her ear. It was the twelfth time she'd done it since sitting down. She must have done it when she was focusing hard or something. "You've got something on your mind?"

She thought about her family and nodded. Shannon: My father and some of my brothers and sisters have come up missing.  I'm a bit worried about them.  Especially about Dad.  He recently had a heart attack.

This poor woman, dealing with all this, and still being polite to him and having a smile on her face. "I'm really, really sorry to hear that, Shannon. I hope they're all okay." He looked down at his watch and groaned. "I've really gotta get going in a few minutes.... Can I at least walk you home? It'd make me feel a lot better, to know I got you home safely." He thought of something quickly and turned towards her more. "Are you staying alone? You can't possibly be staying alone with all of this going on..."

She shook her head. Shannon: I've been staying with my brother.  That's why I'm here actually.  He owns this place.  I'm starting to feel a bit like a third wheel though.

Roleplay Title... First night in town OOC... Yay! I'm back, people! :-p He frowned a bit hearing that. "I know exactly how that feels. I moved out of my brother's house because he got married, and I started to feel like I didn't belong there anymore. Like I was in the way or something....So I left before I became a bother." He could see the worry in her eyes as she continued to think about her situation and her family. "Well, maybe if we got to know each other a bit, and you started to feel comfortable around me, you could stay in the bedroom downstairs in my place. I've gotta admit, it'd be a lot less lonely and quiet." He thought about the way he'd felt sort of empty as he walked around his house. It was a nice house, it just wasn't a home. He was hoping that feeling would go away with time.

He smiled softly as he looked up at her, letting her know he was joking. "I'm playing... whatever you'd like, Shannon. It'd be nice to have the company. Especially when the company is so lovely." He felt himself blush lightly and groaned. He must look like such a dweeb.

He looked down at his watch and felt the crick in his next stiffening up worse and sighed. "I'd better get going..." He grabbed a napkin from the counter and pulled a pen out of his pocket and wrote down his number and address. "I wasn't sure if you'd wanna come tonight, with you not having any of your things. I could just take you back to your brother's, if you'd like?"

She nodded and finished her drink. Shannon: I think tonight I should spend at Mitch's.  He'll be here late tonight so I'll talk to him in the morning about having somewhere else to stay.

I'll give you a minute to say goodbye to your brother and everyone while I pull the car around. I'll drive you home." He left, and within minutes he was pulling up in front of the club. He watched as she walked towards the car, rubbing her arms lightly. He opened the door for her and let her get settled in. She must not have thought to bring a jacket. He took his off quickly and put it over her like a blanket to warm her up. "Here you go..." He ran around to his side of the car and got in quickly. "You've gotta guide me here, I don't know the area."

She smiled as she got into the car. Shannon: Thank you.  Mitch doesn't live far from here. She pointed the way to the house and smiled when they pulled into the driveway. Shannon: Would you ike to come in?

"I've got a really bad kink in my neck I'm hoping to work out with my hot tub tonight. Thank you for the invitation. If you need anything before tomorrow, don't hesitate to call, though." He watched her walk into the house safely and then drove off, heading to the house to neaten things up for Shannon's arrival in the morning.
