She smiled and opened the door further. Shannon: Come on inside.  I'll get your jacket for you. She went up to her room grabbing his jacket and took it back downstairs.

Roleplay Title... Resting at home OOC... Blah. Sleeping in is great. He stepped into the house and paced back and forth silently as he waited for her to come back downstairs. He took in a light breath and smiled softly, smelling the wonderful mixtures of smells in the house. It smelled like a woman lived here. It smelled like a home. He watched as Shannon walked back down the stairs with his coat. "I'm really sorry I came over here so late and disturbed you."

She smiled as she handed him his jacket. Shannon: It's okay.  I was just finishing up some homework that's due tomorrow. She pointed to the living room. Shannon: Would you like to set down and stay awhile?

He walked into the livingroom with her and sat down on the corner, seeing a few of her books laying around on the coffee table. He watched as she sat down and crossed her legs, turning toward him a bit. He couldn't help but notice how soft and smooth her left looked as it peeked out of her nightie. He turned his head a bit, trying to be a gentleman. "What're you studying in school?"

He saw her smile, noticing she seemed really happy to talk about school. "It's refreshing to see a girl who's so excited about learning and expanding her mind. You don't find that often anymore."

She nodded and smiled. Shannon: It was something my mother was big on before she died.  She didn't want us girls to just set around and do nothing.  She wanted us to make something of ourselves.

She was about to say something to him when she heard something outside then the window breaking. She screamed and jumped.

Roleplay Title... Resting at home OOC... Blah. Sleeping in is great. Emmett grabbed her by the waist and pulled her in close, putting a finger over his lips to tell her to be quiet. "Stay close." he whispered as they moved toward the offending sound. He would have gone alone, but he didn't want to rick leaving her here and someone hurting her. He looked and saw that the window directly next to the door had been broken, like the person was planning on sticking their hand through to unlock the door. Shannon turned to him with a panicked look in her eyes, watching as they began to well up. He wiped them lightly and looked deep into them. "We're going to go upstairs quickly and pack a bag. You can't stay here tonight. We'll stop along the way to warn your brother not to come back here." He follows her upstairs, being vigilant of their surroundings as she rushes to her closet and packs a small bag. He watched her hands begin to shake as she tried to close the bag, but could'nt get a grip on it because of her nerves. He took it from her, zipped it quickly and grabbed her hand. "Don't worry, I'll get you out of here safely." He successfully rushed them out of the house and started the car as he heard another loud crash in the house. He sped off quickly before the intruder could realize they were gone. He looked over and could see that Shannon's nerves were shot. He grabbed her hand and held it, lightly running his thumb over it to calm her.

She held tight to his hand trying to calm down. Shannon: I thought I'd be safe there.  I really thought I would be.  I mean who's going to want to mess with Mitch?  The man is huge. She looked at him trying to smile but knew it wasn't coming off very well. Shannon: Thank you.  If you hadn't been there...

Roleplay Title... Resting at home OOC... Blah. Sleeping in is great. He shook his head and cut her off mid-sentence. "Let's not even think about that." He looked over at her, and couldn't explain why his heart had all but stopped to see a single tear fall out of her in there. Almost like it hurt him to see her in pain. He looked down at their fingers intertwined and sighed. "I'm sorry I took you home and didn't stay with you until your brother came." He pulled his cell phone out of his pocket with his free hand as they hit a red light. He handed it over to her. "Would you rather just call your brother? You're not exactly dressed to go out in public like that." He eyed her nightie quickly before turning his eyes back to the road as the light turned green.

She nodded and took the phone.  She called Mitch and told him what happened.  She let him know that she had a place to stay and promised to call him the next morning.  She hung up the phone and handed it back to Emmett. Shannon: Thank you.  He said the police will probably want to talk to us about what happened.

He'll be long gone by the time we talk to them now, and you look exhausted. I'll call them first thing so you can file a report." They pulled up to his house and he handed her the jacket like he had earlier that night and wrapped her in it to stay warm. It was a bit chilly tonight with the breeze coming off of the water. They walk up into the house and he brings her to her new room and turns to her with a bit of a pained look on his face. He didn't know exactly how to say this without it seeming like he was trying anything funny. "Just to be safe, I think you should stay close to me, in case of anything. I have a cot I can set up right next to the bed, so you can still be comfortable."

Mentally, he was exhausted, but he didn't see how he'd ever be able to sleep tonight. "Well, I was gonna go in the hot tub. You're more than welcome to come with me, if you'd like. I know you don't have a bathing suit with you or whatever, but you can always throw on one of my t-shirts." He wanted so badly to be able to get her mind off of the happenings of tonight, even if it was only for a little while. "Or we could watch a movie, and I have boxes full of books if you'd rather I left you to read quietly?"
